Map Monday: People's Republic of China by Dorozhand

I almost didn't have a map to feature for this week's Map Monday. I wasn't impressed by most of what was available from the week before. Then I saw Dorozhand's wank of the People's Republic of China:
As maps go it is fairly well done, but it was the scenario that really caught my eye. In this timeline Mao Zedong dies in the mid-1950s and China is led by Zhou Enlai. Zhou manages to transform China into a major power, without the excesses of the Cultural Revolution. That is the problem with Mao's legacy. Despite his accomplishment, it cost him millions of his own people to transform China into the country it is today. Perhaps there was a better option for China's rise and a warning to developing nations about what the future may bring.

No honorable mentions for the reasons above. If you want to submit a map for the next Map Monday, email me at ahwupdate at gmail dot com with your map attached and a brief description in the body of the email.
