Mao Zedong dies in the mid-1950s and China is led by Zhou Enlai. Zhou manages to transform China into a major power, without the excesses of the Cultural Revolution. That is the problem with Mao's legacy. Despite his accomplishment, it cost him millions of his own people to transform China into the country it is today. Perhaps there was a better option for China's rise and a warning to developing nations about what the future may bring.
