Review New and Upcoming AH Books for Weekly Update

One of the unexpected benefits of starting Weekly Update for me is the number of alternate history books sent to me to review by authors and publishers. This has given me the chance to read stories I otherwise would not have chosen, sometimes even before the rest of the public has a chance to read. The problem I found, however, is that my non-AH stack of books waiting to be read has become ridiculously large. The hard copies I have are taking up all the space I have on my bed side table and my wife is not happy about it.

Plus, a wise man once said to much of a good thing can turn bad. The last thing I want is to become burned out over alternate history, which would be particularly disastrous for a blog about alternate history to have an administrator who does not want to write anymore about alternate history!.

So I am offering an opportunity for the fans of Weekly Update. I want to share the books (both paper and electronic) that I receive with you. Contact me at ahwupdate at gmail dot com with your name, preferred email and address (if you are willing to receive paper copies), along with any preferences for stories so I can best match up the reader with the book. Any information sent will be kept private and only be released to authors/publishers with your consent.

So what is the catch? I want reviews from you. I want to know what you thought of the book and I want to share it with the audience. Reviews should be between 500-1000 words long and should be sent two weeks after you receive the book, though this rule is flexible. Compensation for the review includes being allowed to  keep your copy of the book and the chance to promote any website/blog/project of yours in the signature blurb of the review and the "Our Favorites" section of the blog.

So if you are interested in getting a chance to read about new and exciting alternate worlds before anyone else, contact me at ahwupdate at gmail dot com and help Weekly Update keep fans as up to date on what is new in their favorite genre.
